Back in June I was feeling kind of down. And I seem to have this habit of buying a plane ticket somewhere whenever I don't like the way things are going. So, I called up Dennis and Debbie Hollenbeck, the missionaries who I did an internship with back in the summer of 2006. They live in Ensenada, Mexico. Turns out we both had one free week off in August, so *click* I booked my tickets online, and looked forward to this for my 10 weeks of summer school. And I'm finally here!
*Side note: The weekend before last I was in Corvallis and Portland, Oregon for a family reunion, and it's felt SO nice to be getting out of Boise and traveling again.
So I'm down here right now, living it up in Ensenada. I started calling it my second home after my numerous short term visits and one 3 month long stint after graduation, and now on this visit I'm realizing how true that statement is. There's been almost zero culture shock on this trip, and I feel like I'm picking up where I left off from my last stay here. Too bad I'm only here a week, but hey, I'll take what I can get.
Here's a little taste of what I've done so far.
my breakfast this morning - huevos rancheros con tacino at Cafe Jalisco - my favorite!
me & Sergio cleaning out a bunch of stuff that had been "stored" in what will eventually be the boy's bathroom at Casa Esperanza.
